About Us
The People
LaRose Guide Service began in 1967 in the Talkeetna Mountains and quickly expanded to the Alaska Peninsula, Kodiak, and the Wrangell Mountains. My father has retired and sold the Kodiak lodge but still spends time on the Alaska Peninsula in the summer and fall. All of the hunting and fishing takes place on the Alaska Peninsula in southwestern Alaska.
I am a lifelong Alaskan. I grew up in my father's guide business, became a full partner in 1988 and now make my entire living as a full time guide.
I have been a member of the Alaska Professional Hunters since 1988 and on the board of directors since 1994. I am currently serving as that organization's treasurer, and am also a member of SCI and FNAWS.
I have been a licensed pilot since 1972, and an aircraft owner since 1974. I am an instrument rated commercial pilot with single and multi engine rating. I also have an Aircraft and Power Plant mechanic's license. We fly a lot every season, and we do it very, very safely. Our aircraft provide the gateway to some of the most beautiful, most remote places in the world, and your safety in the air is our highest priority.
While in main camp you will enjoy warm, comfortable accommodations and meals. Our meals and deserts have been compared to the cuisine at the finest hotels.
Our Goal
Our goal is to give you a memorable, quality hunting experience in the great outdoors of Alaska. I realize that in most cases, these hunts are lifetime dreams and I feel it is my responsibility to help make this dream come true. I stay attuned to my hunter's needs and requirements while he is in the field and will go out of my way to satisfy those needs.
My guides are very professional and entertaining people. They will make your hunt enjoyable and do their best to make it successful. We all truly want your hunt to be your best outdoors experience ever.
We all welcome the opportunity to be of service to you as you plan and enjoy your Alaskan experience.
